Today in the studio…

Welcome to Cedar Sun Ceramics, a small pottery business in the heart of Denver, Colorado! I’m Brooklynn, the ceramicist and artist.

I recently transitioned from a career in classical music and non-profit arts management to pursue creating with clay full-time as the artist behind Cedar Sun Ceramics. I first discovered this medium only a few years ago, as a student at the Washington Heights Community Art Center in Lakewood, Colorado.

My work is focused on creating slab-built and wheel-thrown functional pottery covered in hand-drawn doodles using underglazes to create everything from 2D illustrations that play with the illusion of 3D objects, and bold floral patterns. Inspired by everyday items, small observations, and the quiet humor found in daily life, my work transforms familiar forms into pieces that feel playful, thoughtful, and a little unexpected.

My practice is rooted in curiosity and joy. By blending illustration with functional ceramics, I invite you to slow down, look closely, and reconnect with ordinary objects in new ways, while celebrating imperfection and whimsy.
